The general pattern holds for any BCT graduation trip: the Family Day afternoon is short, your Soldier is exhausted and hungry, and the best use of the time is a real meal somewhere comfortable — not a packed sightseeing schedule. See the Fort Jackson version for the reasoning. The Columbia-specific venues won’t transfer, but the approach does.
For Fort Benning-specific restaurant and activity recommendations, the local convention and visitor bureau and your Soldier’s training company family readiness group are the best starting points.
